All Saints’ School Gresford

Mrs Wilson visited our school recently to teach us all about chemistry.  We learned how to make an indicator, test for acids and alkalis and make a polymer.  We did lots of fun experiments and learned a lot of technical words to impress our teachers with.

We had the local TechniQuest to visit our school and they brought with them a planetarium.  We enjoyed going into the space dome and learning about the constellations and planets in our solar system. 

We also had to make Mars Rover landing equipment. 

 The sessions were action packed and we learned so much.

The children in year 5 and 6 enjoyed a visit from a local scientist. We learned lots about space flight and made their own rockets. We were also given the opportunity to launch a rocket in the school grounds and were amazed how high it travelled

The year 6 children have just returned from a fun filled, action packed, five day residential trip to Colomendy Kingswood Centre. The children thoroughly enjoyed their stay and returned back to school on Friday very tired but full of happy memories.

The children will be learning all about Kenya for Autumn term and have already started to bring in artefacts and photographs.

 

The spring term topic will be Earth and Space       

 

 

During the summer term the children will be studying World War II
